The position will report to China Editor for editorial matters and Deputy Supervisor, SBB China, for issues concerning our marketing and brand image development.
Main Responsibilities:
- Promoting the development of SBB' s basic profile within China by.
- Assuring the quality of our Chinese language publications, including translating, editing and set-up.
- Supervising the work of the translation team, (for both full time and part time operators).
- Assisting in the development of more SBB Chinese language publications.
- Assisting in the development of SBB' s Chinese language web site.
- Liaising with the steel market in China including some external visits to SBB contacts.
Requirements:
- Several years editing/sub-editing/type-setting experience preferably in a web-based environment
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Perfect Chinese writing skills and experience in translating from English to Chinese
- Able to lead/supervise a small team of Chinese translators
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Can work under pressure, i.e. time limited situation
- Bachelor degree
- Steel/metals industry experience /education background is preferred
- Media working experience, especially in major industrial commodities, or finance/economics fields, will be considered as an asset
This is an important job for the company in Asia - basically to take a leading role in making SBB more China-friendly.
